The biggest secret to successful marketing online is one of finding products that not only interest your target audience and tempt them to purchase right away or sign up to your mailing list, but which also provide high earnings for you as well as potential for follow up sales. 

 

So, generally speaking, the more expensive the product and the more commission you earn per sale, usually the more money you will ultimately make.

 

I say ‘usually’ because other factors also determine how much money you’ll make, such as response rate (number of visitors to the sales page who go on to buy the product), also refunds rates.

 

The following tips will help you choose quality products with high prices and confirmed selling potential resulting in good commissions for you:

 

* Go for products that interest you as a buyer or enthusiast.  It’s a well-known fact that selling products and services for which you are an actual or potential customer yourself benefits you as a seller, both increasing your own enthusiasm in the product and helping you pass that enthusiasm to others.  For me, I love dogs, and my happiest working days involve selling products to people who also love dogs.

 

* Go for high commission items over others of similar quality with lower rewards, based on the fact it’s usually just as easy to sell high priced items as others costing a few dollars apiece. 

 

*  Go for products offering recurring commissions as happens where customers pay monthly to membership sites or partwork products.  To prove how well this works, let me tell you I have made up to ten times more money promoting a  recurring commission product to my own mailing list than I have ever made promoting my own books!

 

* Go for unusual or highly specialised items where you effectively become one of a handful of sellers worldwide.  That’s because the more remote the market and the more creativity sellers must put into sourcing and promoting products, the less likely the process will appeal to lazy affiliates ….. and the more money you and I will make as a result!

 

*  Choose niche markets over general markets, because niche markets as you probably already know comprise people who are potentially one hundred per cent interested in most products and services related to their shared interest, making them highly responsive and regular buyers. 

 

*  Choose products with considerable back-end sales potential.  As an example, you might easily find hundreds of buyers for eBooks showing how to cure warts or sexually transmitted diseases, but once the problem is cured those buyers are unlikely to want further products on the same subject. Compare this to business opportunity seekers and dieters, for example, many of whom buy every new book promising to make a quick fortune or help them lose weight fast. 

 

* Choose products you know to be legal and acceptable in all your target areas.   For example, gambling and alcohol are illegal in some countries, and advertising in general is subject to more stringent rules and regulations in some parts of the world, and so on.  So advertising material which is entirely suited to say, American and European markets, might well be banned in other countries, or vice versa.
