(Write articles to promote your own or other people’s goods, and earn big time for every word you write)

I personally recommend article marketing as possibly the easiest way to make a great deal of money for very little effort.  This is especially so for articles written about particular products or services, and ending with an invitation for readers to make a purchase through your affiliate link!  What you read now represents my own preferred method of promoting affiliate products available at ClickBank and Amazon, and other affiliate directories.

Articles are usually uploaded to online article directories or used at your own websites.  But overwhelmingly it’s larger and better known article directories such as Ezine Articles (ezinearticles.com), Go Articles (goarticles.com), Article Dashboard (articledashboard.com), that successful affiliates and product owners use most. 

That’s because articles at Google’s favourite article directories, including those three, can very often top search engine listings and subsequently drive hoards of traffic to whatever promotions they feature.

Briefly, you have three main chances to make money from your articles listed at major article directories:

-  From visitors to the directory who read your article and click on the link in your resource box, and who subsequently visit the site featuring your promotions.

-  From publishers visiting directories to obtain articles for their sites, and who are obliged to include your resource box with active links at sites where your articles feature. 

Some of those publishers receive millions of page views every month, and that results in massive visitor numbers travelling from your article's resource box to whatever you are promoting!

-  From people keying words into search engines which result in your article being featured on search engine listings.  Major article directories like Ezine Articles are extremely popular with Google and other search engines and enjoy high search engine rankings. And that means an article you write about a specific product or service can be viewed thousands of times daily and generate lots of commissions for you.

But your articles have to be well written and contain useful information to benefit people looking to buy whatever goods and services you’re writing about.  This is because Google loves quality website content, and prefers sites containing good information to feature high in its search engine rankings over others offering purely promotional material.  So it follows if you continue providing quality content in your articles at other people’s sites, or at your own websites or blogs, the traffic will definitely come.

Important Points About Article Marketing

Today we are going to talk about writing articles to place on other people’s websites, from where they can spread across the Internet like wildfire, even without you ever having a website or blog of your own.

To drive the most traffic possible to your product recommendations your article is going to follow what’s called the ‘AIDA’ formula and it lies at the heart of all successful marketing campaigns.  AIDA is the acronym for the process all sales material should follow, being:

A - Attention

I - Interest

D - Desire

A - Action

Using the AIDA formula in your article lets you catch readers’ ATTENTION and grow INTEREST in whatever you’re writing about, and subsequently gets them to DESIRE whatever you are  recommending, and ultimately to take ACTION and make a purchase that makes money for you.

The really big benefit for you is that all marketing articles can be written to exactly fit the AIDA formula where, for example:

Title - the title is rich in keywords and phrases used by people searching for similar information online.  Those keywords will ATTRACT attention purely because they match whatever words and phrases people have actively searched for online.

Introduction - this is a tempter piece used by most article directories to invite readers to click on the title to read the rest of the article.  A well written article will attract curiosity and INTEREST and leave the reader with no option other than to continue reading your article.

Body - featuring two or three paragraphs telling more about your recommended product or service and focusing strongly on benefits, and creating DESIRE to acquire those benefits.

Resource Box - this features at the end of the article where you as writer invite readers to take ACTION by visiting your website or to click on your affiliate link to learn more about the product or service you're recommending, and subsequently to spend and make money for you.

-  Articles can be uploaded to places other than just article directories.  You can, for example, approach ezine owners with your article, and offer it to them free of charge in exchange for advertising your website or email address or whatever else your article is promoting. 

Or you could upload the article to your own website and generate visits to your site from people seeking information via search engines.  You could upload the article to a forum to benefit people asking questions about the subject of your article.

You can even start your own article directory and simply add your own articles, import articles from other directories (subject to rules about taking and using articles), also you could invite authors to add new articles, and ultimately you will earn from your own and other people’s articles at your directory. 

-  Article directories vary according to what you can and what you can not do with articles uploaded to their sites.  You should study individual directories before uploading your articles.  As you may know, some do not allow affiliate links in resource boxes, namely where people clicking on the link go directly to a company selling products using your affiliate link as go-between.  However, most article directories allow links to blogs and mini-sites, and some will also allow a raw affiliate link to be embedded behind words of your choosing, such as ‘CLICK HERE’ or ‘Continue Reading Here’.

-  People love getting something useful for free.  So an article culminating in an invitation to visit your site for more free articles, eBooks, newsletters and ezines will attract visitors, and either fetch immediate sales or commissions, or allow you to create a list of potential buyers for current and future promotions. 

Your article, on your own or someone else’s site, can feature an email address in the resource box and lead to an autoresponder telling the individual where to download the report or whatever is being offered. 

-  Writing articles establishes you as an expert and increases credibility for you and your business.  That is because what an editor chooses to print about you is infinitely more believable than anything you say about you and your business! So writing articles and placing them on other people's article directories or website can grow a great deal of credibility even for new writers.

Just one article can spread across the Internet, creating new active links every day.  So you won’t be surprised to learn there are countless web marketers whose entire working day is spent writing and uploading articles to their own sites and article directories, solely to achieve high rankings in search engine listings, and ultimately to grow links to their site and generate hundreds of buyers for their recommended products each day.
